Saturday was “Tea Party” Day!!! My favorite day of the year. Each September, I host a tea party for my Ladies of the Fold. It is a time for us to get back together after our busy summers. Other than my family, these ladies are who I live to cook for. They are an easy bunch to please and so appreciative.
My goal is for the ladies to be pampered, waited on, relaxed, and enjoy food they normally wouldn’t prepare themselves. Well, everything needs to be absolute perfect for them because they deserve it!! I have the best time preparing for this tea. I love to do pretty table settings. There is just something calming about it for me. I will arrange and rearrange many times until I feel I have it just right.
The food….oh the food! You don’t even want to know how many pounds of butter, sugar, flour, confectioner sugar, and milk I went through. Every time I went back to the store, the lady at the door would just smile and say “Again? One day I’m sitting at your table for a meal!” Knowing me, I will have her over one day and feed her then invite her to Sunday School with me. Here are some of the things I prepared for my sweet ladies…..
I served three different teas but the hit of the day was “Bourbon Street Vanilla”. We have a tea shop in Pensacola named Wilkinson’s of Norwich. It is owned by a lovely lady named Patsy who I have become friends with quickly!! I told her about my upcoming tea party and she didn’t say a word, she just pulled out the bourbon tea!! I smelled it, fainted from the great scent, purchased it, went home and prepared it. Thank you Patsy!!!
I want you to meet my Ladies of the Fold. I love them, I love them, I love them. And they love me…..alot!!
Aren’t they the cutest things!!! They are as sweet and Godly as they are cute. Love my Girls!!!! There were a few girls that were unable to attend and they were missed.
I just wanted to share a day in my year that is so very important to me. If you don’t already, start a traditional date with your girlfriends to meet each year and fellowship. You will be better for it.
Oh by the way, I will be posting the Peach Cobbler Muffins this week…..look for it!!!
